Overview

Mill Street Bed & Breakfast is located in Mulgrave at the entrance of the Cape Breton Island region of Nova Scotia. This Cape Cod home, located on a large, private property offers a peaceful and quiet setting for our guests, complete with traditional décor and antiques.

Mulgrave is a relaxed, rural Nova Scotia community nestled in a serene, picturesque coastal setting. Situated on the Strait of Canso, Mulgrave neighbours the town of Port Hawkesbury. The world-famous Cabot Trail loops around the northern tip of Cape Breton, passing through many charming communities with breathtaking scenery.

Guests are within a three-hour drive to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, which is home to the world-famous Cabot Trail, and provides world-class hiking, camping, fishing, golf and sightseeing. Go whale watching, visit museums and galleries, and samples some of the finest seafood dining in the world.

On the opposite side of the island, also within a three-hour drive is the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, where each summer, it springs to life as dozens of costumed interpreters become the town’s residents, portraying life as it was in the summer of 1744. Period homes, exhibits and theme centres line the streets, as well as along the busy waterfront.

Our accommodations include two spacious, air-conditioned executive suites (queen-sized beds) with either an ensuite 4-piece bath (air-jet tub) or a 3-piece (shower) bath. Satellite television, telephone, wireless Internet, printer/fax, writing desk, fridge, microwave and coffeemaker are available. Indulge in a healthy, full breakfast in our cheery, sun-lit dining room. Guests can relax in our private sitting area or curl up with a good book by the fire. Enjoy the peaceful view of the lower garden in our private yard.
