McDaniel Bed & Breakfast is a quiet renovated century-old homestead is located in Margaree Forks on the famous Cabot Trail on beautiful Cape Breton Island. Our five-generation farmhouse is surrounded by mountains with the Margaree River winding through our 300-acre property. Our guests can enjoy our magnificent valley scenery, river walks, mountain hikes, swimming, canoeing and fishing. We have three salmon pools on our property. Margaree boasts several beautiful beaches that are found on a 9-km (5.5-mi) stretch of coastline. Other nearby activities and attractions include Celtic entertainment and local dances, restaurants, gift shops, tourist bureau and the Salmon Museum. There are many opportunities for walking and hiking including Egypt Falls Trail in Southwest Margaree which is a moderate to difficult walking trail up a steep hillside which takes you to a spectacular waterfall. We are an excellent home base for scenic day trips and exploring the Island’s attractions. Whale watching tours are available in the Acadian village of Chéticamp. The Cabot Trail is one of the world’s most famous scenic drives with many historic communities and attractions along with way for you to discover. Our accommodations include 2 guest rooms (Double), with a shared 3-piece bath (shower), ceiling and window fans and hair dryer. Guest features include 3 sitting rooms with a satellite television and DVD/CD player in one of the rooms; coffee maker and microwave in our kitchen; and a verandah. A complimentary light breakfast is available featuring organic jams and jellies. Pets are not permitted in the house.
