Five Islands Lighthouse Park
From May 10, 2025 to October 13, 2025
Lock Haven Cottage is located in Lower Five Islands in the Fundy Shore and Annapolis Valley. This licenced oceanfront property overlooks the Minas Basin, where reportedly the highest tides in the world can be seen.
Lock Haven Cottage enjoys about 250 feet of waterfront which drops off to a gravel beach, where visitors can enjoy sunbathing, rockhounding, swimming, clam digging, and walking to explore some of the most spectacular scenes imaginable! This beach sees the tide come in and go out, the vertical rise and fall being the highest in the world, the water reaching right up to the bluff and then receding until you can almost walk out to Moose Island, the largest of the Five Islands. Relax on the deck and watch the birds and the sky, or read a book and take in the salt air. You could go on the beach and dig clams, bring them up and steam them and really appreciate the bounty of the sea!
There are three restaurants in Lower Five Islands, each quite distinctive. Lock Haven Cottage is close to many attractions and activities including the Five Islands Lighthouse which was built in 1913; Five Islands Provincial Park which offers a variety of hiking trails; That Dutchman’s Farm where cheese is made and sold on the premise; and a twenty-minute drive to a golf course with magnificent views of the waters below. Come and join the fun.
Our beachfront cottage can accommodate 6 people comfortably and includes 2 bedrooms with double beds; a 3-piece bathroom (Shower); a fully-equipped kitchen, a sun porch with a sofa bed, and VCR, DVD and CD players with a selection of movies and music. There is electric heat for cool mornings and evenings. The cottage deck is furnished with a table, chairs and gas barbecue. Small pets are allowed.
Cash and travellers’ cheques are accepted.
