Cape Breton Northern Tip Charters
From May 15, 2024 to October 15, 2024
Pitch your tent or park your small RV on a meadowed cliff overhanging the Atlantic Ocean. Hear the sound of sea and gull. Perhaps the wind. See the fishing boats at work, the sunset, the wild flowers, always keeping a sharp lookout for whales. Walk down to the harbour for fresh seafood or test the water at the small beach. Book a trip on a whalewatch boat or launch your kayak from the slipway. Have a snack at the canteen or the tea room. But above all take the time to just be at Jumping Mouse Eco-Camping.
Small, intimate, and but for the nature that surrounds you, quiet.Ten roomy sites. No hookups. A small wilderness cabin, four bunks and candlelight. Best reserved. Outside nook for a coleman stove. All sites and cabin have a firepit and picnic table. Wood sold at the office. The office/lounge, complete with kettle and wifi, is open 24 hours. The hot water shower and cold water tap are next door. The pit toilets – rooms with a view! – are a little further away. Our full recycling facilities let you match your footprint to the footprint of a mouse. Explore the countryside. Find its history. Its magical places. Hike the mountains. Then relax in the lounge with a cup of tea or cool water from our deep well. Play a game of cards or snakes and ladders. Children are especially welcome. Or meet a drizzly morning with your breakfast in the lounge, perhaps meet a friend. Find yourself with no dishes or pans? No need for Styrofoam. Just check the office. We’ll let you know if a storm is brewing. There are sites in the woods for tents for bad weather or weather just too sunny. And the picnic shelter lets you eat in comfort. We offer discounts to backpackers and cyclists. Pets allowed but must be on leash within campground boundaries. Cash or cheque only.
