Commissioned Portraits

A commissioned portrait is a timeless heirloom. It can capture the fleeting innocence of youth, celebrate the depth of a special relationship or acknowledge a person, whether in a family context, business, anniversary or wedding.

James is an elected member of The Portrait Society of Canada (Top Finalist, 2014, 15, 16, 17 National Competition “The Miracle of the Portrait”), The Portrait Society of America, The Canadian Society of Artists and Oil Painters of America. His work also includes landscape, figure and still life.

5-Day Plein Air Painting Workshops

Join James Middleton for a 5-day outdoor painting workshop on the beautiful South Shore of Nova Scotia. 

Our workshops offer a good balance between friendly interchange and education. They will be a relaxed, yet informative experience for all participants.

Days will include demonstrations, personal instruction, exercises, encouragement and positive critiques for personal growth.

If you are a beginning painter or a studio painter, you are in for a great experience!
