Overview

Inn out of the Fog is one of those ratified finds. It has just one guest suite, that features two bedrooms, bath, private entrance and large sitting area. The suite is a total of 900 square feet. It is an unusual space, filled with Nova Scotian art, vintage hand made quilts and vintage and antique furnishings. Outside the entrance is a private deck area to watch the tidal river, hummingbirds and bald eagles.

This is not a generic hotel/motel. It was designed for interesting people who want to look at interesting things. There is no TV service, but we do provide a good variety of DVD’s and videotapes of great movies and there are lots of books and board games. The owner is a fabric artist with a shop downstairs from the suite and her passion for fabrics is reflected in the décor of the apartment.

The extensive gardens surround the house, and guests are welcome and encouraged to investigate the little areas designed to sit and enjoy the beauty of the flowers and the sounds of nature.

If you are an art lover, enjoy the eclectic, and want a spot to get away from the humdrum, this is truly a place to stop and rest and enjoy a visual feast and restore your spirits. Curl up with a book or just watch the river flow. While Inn out of the Fog is in the centre of the village it is completely surrounded by green space and you can experience the sense of detachment from civilization.

Because of the vintage furnishings and fabrics, if you have keen sensitivities or allergies we recommend you stay elsewhere. While the owner does have cats, they do not enter the suite.

The Lonely Planet guide loves the suite and if you are one of those special people who shun the ordinary and the mundane, we think you will also.

The bedrooms contain a double a single and a three quarter bed making the suite comfortable for sleeping  five. There is a small fridge and a kettle and coffee and tea are provided.
