Highland View Farm and Cottages is located in George’s River on the Bras d’Or Lakes Scenic Drive in Cape Breton Island. Each cabin is constructed of fine, kiln-dried white pine, once the staple of the Nova Scotia shipbuilding industry. Natural, sustainable building products are used wherever practical on our farm and in our cottages.
Seaview Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole course in nearby North Sydney, boasting rolling hills and spectacular views. Challenge yourself on this course designed by Robert Moote, with its water hazards and bunkers in play on many of the holes. Ridin’ High Ranch Fun offers fun activities for the whole family, including horseback riding, pony rides, birthday parties and cowboy cookouts. There is a children’s play area close by, and a short drive will take you to a wildlife park.
Our accommodations include three pine log Housekeeping cottages (Queen-sized bed, Double bed; 1- and 2-bedroom) with 3-piece or 4-piece bath (one with whirlpool). Cottages offer SaTV, VCR, DVD player, barbecue, private covered deck and magnificent view of Bras d’Or Lakes and highlands. All cottages have efficiency kitchens with a new fridge, new stove and microwave oven. Laundry services are available. Our property is rich in Mi’kmaq heritage and includes an organic farm. There is a Medicine Path on the property, and trail walks with interpretation. Workshops for certified organic techniques are offered. We are close to beaches, golf, birdwatching and the Newfoundland ferry. We are an Aboriginal-owned and operated business. French is spoken. All major credit cards are accepted.
Must cancel 14 days prior to day of arrival for refund of deposit or to avoid a credit card charge. There is an immediate charge of 50% of the total stay placed on the credit card.
