Fresh Start Bed & Breakfast is a modest Victorian mansion providing a friendly, relaxed atmosphere in the Halifax Metro region. 

Fresh Start is within close proximity to CFB Halifax and directly across the street from the Maritime Command Museum. The historic Hydrostone District, which rose after the catastrophic Halifax Explosion in 1917, is close by and is a lively, vibrant place to shop and eat out. Fort Needham Park is nearby, with the Commemorative Bells which pays tribute to the 2,000 who died in the Halifax Explosion. This historic tower overlooks the north end of Halifax with a spectacular view of the Halifax Harbour. 

We are also close to the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site and downtown Halifax with its many museums, the Nova Scotia Art Gallery, Historic Properties, sports and entertainment venues and the bustling waterfront. Enjoy a stroll through Halifax’s Public Gardens and dine at one of the city’s many restaurants.   

 We have 6 rooms (Queen, Double, Single), 3 private 4-piece baths, and 2 shared 2- and 4-piece baths. Full breakfast is included; cable television and phone in lounge; free local calls, Wi-Fi and parking. A cot which fits some rooms is available. Complimentary coffee, tea or cold beverage is available whenever requested. We have flexible check-in/-out times. Business clients are welcome. Smoking is not permitted in the house. Pets are not permitted – a cat is in residence. All major credit cards are accepted.
