Crown Jewel Resort
Overview
Experience Crown Jewel Resort in Baddeck on Cape Breton Island, a premier eco-destination boasting the tranquility of island life with all the comforts of home. The Crown Jewel experience hails from a different era when organic farming was mainstream and animals worked shoulder-to-shoulder with their masters. Follow the first settlers logging roads while wandering our old growth Acadian forest and see some of the remains of foundations of homes and farm buildings while learning how life was lived at the turn of the last century.
Our working farm and resort is situated on 800 acres of land spanning from the Baddeck River to the Cape Breton Highlands offering adventures for all seasons. The resort has 25 km of private trails both wooded and open to enjoy activities such as hayrides, horseback riding, hiking and cycling. Take a romantic sleigh ride; or cross-country ski on our 13 km of private groomed trails. Fly fish for trout or Atlantic salmon and see thousands of birds in acres of diverse habitats. Guests staying at the resort can enjoy geocaching to stretch their legs while learning about the history of the property and the unique geological and natural features of the area.
Flying to and over Cape Breton Island provides breathtaking vistas and by operating our own airport, Crown Jewel is a true pilots destination.
Our accommodations include 8 air-conditioned rooms (Queen, Double), all with ensuite 3-piece bath (shower), hair dryer, telephone and Internet access.
Guest features include a licensed dining room, unique conference centre and a cocktail bar/lounge with television and library. Our business centre adjoining our lounge has available computer, printing, fax and scanner allowing you to keep in touch. Pets are permitted and housed in dedicated kennels. Pets are not permitted in the buildings.
