Bishop’s Bailiwick Guest House The Google rating is 4.8

South Shore, Shelburne

Overview

Bishop’s Bailiwick Guest House is a classical Italianate-style Victorian home built in 1889, located in the heart of Shelburne’s Historic District in the scenic South Shore region of Nova Scotia. Beautifully restored, the house features ornate architectural highlights, a grand entranceway complete with sweeping staircase, stained glass window and hardwood floors. A sunny breakfast nook and comfortable living and dining rooms complete the perfect picture.

A stone’s throw from the harbour and a short drive to any number of deserted beaches, Bishop’s Bailiwick offers a taste of Nova Scotia living. There is a large back garden that is safe for children to play. The guesthouse is about 100 metres up from the harbour where there is a boardwalk, a swimming area, a park and a serene harbour. Halfway along the Lighthouse Route, Shelburne is a great location to use as a base from which to explore the South Shore. We are just over an hour from Yarmouth and about two hours from Halifax. Among the many beaches worth exploring is the beach at the Sandy Point Lighthouse, a short 10 minutes away. There is also a marina where you can take sailing lessons.

Our accommodations include a 4-bedroom home (Queen-sized bed, Twin bed) with two 4-piece baths. Cable television, VCR, telephone, full kitchen, propane fireplace, washer, dryer and a barbecue are all available to guests. Visa and MasterCard are accepted.

Cancellation Policy: Must cancel 12 weeks prior to the day of arrival (for refund of deposit or to avoid a credit card charge).
