A Birds I View Cottage is located in the coastal village of Daniels Head on Cape Sable Island’s South Side. Just 75 km (45 miles) from the Yarmouth, it is a short drive to the cottage from the Yarmouth Ferry Terminal.
A Bird’s I View is a charming, beautifully maintained open concept vacation home. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, living room and dining area. There are two bedrooms (queen size beds), a 4-piece bathroom and on site laundry facilities. Sunny paint colours and plenty of windows create a bright and inviting interior.
WIFI is available on site as well as satellite TV and a DVD player. The kitchen is complete with fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, and all the necessities for making a meal. Bedding, linens, beach towels, toilet tissue, hand soap, hair dryer, iron and ironing board are available.
There is a private deck with propane BBQ and patio furniture. The deck enjoys a view of a tidal marsh that is home to ducks, geese and other water-fowl. A fire pit in the back garden is the perfect spot to spend a warm summer evening.
As the southernmost point of the Nova Scotia peninsula, Cape Sable Island is noted for its excellent birding opportunities and its beautiful beaches, such as Stoney Island North East Point and The Hawk, all of which are within a short driving distance from the cottage. It’s a short 5-minute walk to beautiful sand dunes of South Side Beach. Other outdoor activities include golf (25 mins), hiking, biking, kayaking and canoeing. Sand Hills Provincial Park with is expansive sand flats is a 20 minute drive. Local festivals and events include the Shelburne County Lobster Festival in June, the Harmony Bazaar Festival in July, the Shag Harbour UFO Festival in August and Lights Along the Shore Festival in September.
