Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie, Atlantic Canada\u2019s largest cycling event, returns September 12-13, 2026 and welcomes recreational cyclists, those who like to tour by bike, and avid racers for an epic coastal ride!<\/strong><\/p>\n

This annual event has become a ‘must-do’ cycling and cultural experience, having quickly grown to be the largest cycling event in Atlantic Canada, with 600 cyclists participating in 2025 including many participants from outside of Nova Scotia. Our Gran Fondo is perfect for recreational cyclists, coastal sight seeing riders, and avid racers! Although a timed event we welcome those looking for a self-paced, fun group event, rather than a race. This year’s edition will be a special occasion as our event returns to the recently renovated Clare Veterans Centre in Saulnierville!<\/p>\n

Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie offers three rides ranging from 35 km to 118 km. Riders will explore rolling inland roads along lakes and rivers, pass by the stunning architecture of towering churches, and along the panoramic coastal route that hugs beautiful Baie Sainte Marie. Experienced riders can challenge themselves with the 128 km \u2018Gran\u2019 ride, while intermediate and novice cyclists may prefer our 67 km \u2018Medio\u2019 or 35 km \u2018Piccolo\u2019 routes. A scrumptious meal is included, and cyclists can choose between a vegetarian option, BBQ pork or the perennial favourite, fresh lobster in the shell! Downloadable maps of each route are on our website and include photo galleries, videos, and testimonials. Register before July 19, 2026, to ensure you receive a custom event jersey.<\/p>\n

The region’s famous Acadian<\/a> hospitality and\u00a0culture is highlighted with\u00a0social and culinary events as the entire community rolls out the welcome mat and residents\u00a0enthusiastically cheer you on from the roadside, waving Acadian flags and banging pots and pans as you ride between our well-stocked rest stations.<\/p>\n

The Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie takes place in the Clare \/ Baie Sainte- Marie regio<\/a>n and is hosted by the Municipality of Clare<\/a>.<\/p>\n
