Overview

Experience unmatched sunset or sunrise views on a guided coastal hike in the Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark. Choose from a variety Bay of Fundy beach hikes varying in terrain, distance and difficulty, and enjoy expert local insights along the way, while basking in the golden hour” glow.

Sunset and sunrise beach hikes with Tide Rollers & Mudlarkers available at the following locations:

Five Islands Provincial Park :

  • Dates: Tours offered daily, mid-June through Thanksgiving. Must be booked in advance. Subject to availability.
  • Duration & distance: 3-hours, 4 km (return)
  • Difficulty: Easy to moderate. Suitable for beginners, families, and most hiking abilities.
  • Meeting point: Five Islands Provincial Park (618 Bentley Branch Rd, Five Islands): day use parking lot.

Two Islands / Wasson’s Bluff Beaches:

  • Dates: Tours offered daily, year-round. Must be booked in advance. Subject to availability.
  • Duration & distance: 3 hours, 6 km (return)
  • Difficulty: Easy to moderate. Steep and rocky decent onto beach, easy walk once on the beach.
  • Meeting point: Parrsboro Bandstand (4030 Eastern Ave., corner of Main Street & Eastern Avenue). After meeting with your guide, you will follow in your vehicle to the trail head (less than 15 minutes away).

Clarke Head Beach with Gabbro Sea Stack:

  • Dates: Tours offered daily, year-round. Must be booked in advance. Subject to availability.
  • Duration & distance: 3 hours, 4 – 6 km (return). Distance to be determined by tide times and daylight hours available.
  • Difficulty: Moderate to challenging. Tides often change the beach terrain.
  • Meeting point: Parrsboro Bandstand (4030 Eastern Ave., corner of Main Street & Eastern Avenue). After meeting with your guide, you will follow in your vehicle to the trail head (less than 10 minutes away).

Cape Sharpe Lighthouse:

  • Dates: Tours offered daily, year-round. Must be booked in advance. Subject to availability.
  • Duration & distance: 3 hours, 4 km (return)
  • Difficulty: Moderate to difficult. Rocky road with varying elevations and steep inclines.
  • Meeting point: Parrsboro Bandstand (4030 Eastern Ave., corner of Main Street & Eastern Avenue). After meeting with your guide, you will follow in your vehicle to the trail head (less than 15 minutes away)

Cost: $180 for 1- 4 participants. Add additional participants for +$40 per person, up to a maximum of 6 participants.

How to book: Contact Tide Rollers & Mudlarkers directly by email or phone 1-306-631-8539. When booking, please indicate your interest (photographer, avid hiker, casual walker).

Good to Know:

  • Your guide, Anna, is accredited and well-versed in the Bay of Fundy tides and unique features of your chosen tour location. Exact tour start times will be confirmed once your tour is booked, as it is based on daily fluctuating tide times. Please arrive at the meeting location at least 15 minutes prior to tour start time.
  • What to wear and bring: Hat, hiking boots or, at a minimum, runners with sturdy tread are a must. Dress in layers to keep the wind/sun out. The weather can be unpredictable. Bring a backpack with drinking water and your preferred snacks. If you would like to take pictures, bring your camera with fully charged battery.

Conditions & Cancellations: Advance booking is required; tour times depend on the tides and are different every day. All tours require a minimum of 1 person, max 6. Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours in advance of scheduled tours. If your tour is cancelled due to poor conditions, there will be no charge and we will try to rebook your tour.
