Overview

Built in 1963, Bluenose II is an exact replica of the famed schooner Bluenose, which became a national icon when she raced undefeated for the International Fishermen’s Cup. Her namesake remains a symbol of the Grand Banks fishery, shipbuilding excellence and the seafaring history of our region.

Steeped in maritime tradition, Bluenose II is a must-see while visiting Nova Scotia. Check out our schedule (bluenose.novascotia.ca/schedule) to find out where you can view Bluenose II this summer.

Experience the sights, smells, and sounds of sailing on a Grand Banks fishing schooner. Bluenose II welcomes passengers on board for 2-hour harbour cruises twice a day in Lunenburg and Halifax as indicated in the schedule. You can book a cruise online or by calling 1-855-640-3177. Pricing: Adult – $95 ; Children (3-12) – $45 (taxes and fees included).

When not cruising, Bluenose II offers « open decks » which provides an opportunity to walk the deck and chat with the crew. There is no cost for open decks, and no need to book ahead.
