This Ain’t Your Average Jazz Band

The G Street Band plays jazz standards mixed in with high-energy, jazz-style versions of classics and current pop hits – every Friday and Saturday night at The New Pacifico in Halifax. 

The evening starts off low key as people enjoy a curated menu and specialty cocktails in an elegant setting.  From there it builds over the course of 4 sets into a full-on dance party . 

The G Street Band is made up of Larry Bjornson basses/vocals, Davis Burton sdrums/vocals, Mike Cowie trumpet/vocals/percussion, Silvio Pupo piano/keys, and Liz Rigney vocals voclas/percussion.

Every night features different sets of songs that are never played the same way twice.

You’ll hear tunes from Miles, Sinatra, Hancock, Ella, Weather Report, and Satchmo mixed in with jazzy treatments of Rock and R&B hits from Earth Wind & Fire, Gloria Gaynor, Prince and The Rolling Stones.  The band’s speciality – which keeps Pacifico audiences coming back – are thereimagined, jazz dance versions of today’s pop tunes  – from Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Lizzo, Amy Winhouse, The Killers, and Billie Eilish.
