Art of Disability Festival

This event highlights the creative talents of persons with disabilities in the Nova Scotia community through vendors showcasing their paintings, books, cards, pottery, and much more! This Festival strives to break down the barriers between art and accessibility and truly show the beauty of what people can offer in their own way. 

This year’s Art of Disability Festival will take place at the Kenneth C. Rowe Hall and Atrium within the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 on Saturday, August 19, from 12:00-6:00 PM. 

The festival will close with a book launch of celebrated author, disability advocate, and long-time ILNS consumer, Jen Powley. Jen has published her third book titled: Making a Home, Living in the Community for Young Adults with Disabilities. The book is about the work she and ILNS accomplished in order for individuals with significant physical disabilities to remain and transition back into community.
