The annual Cape Breton Highlands 3 Peaks Challenge<\/strong> will take place Saturday, June 13, 2026.<\/p>\n

Now in it’s 16th year, this popular hiking event welcomes hiking teams of four to register to hike three mountain trails in Cape Breton – all in one day!<\/p>\n

2026 3 Peaks Challenge will hike the following mountain trails:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Squirrel Mountain in Grand Etang: 4.65 km in a steep, steady climb<\/li>\n
  2. Roberts Mountain in Pleasant Bay: 3.9 km return; good for all skill levels<\/li>\n
  3. Acadian Mountain in Petit Etang near National Park entrance: 8.4 km loop, moderate hike with steep inclines<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Teams will hike approximately 16-18 km along with elevations of approximately 3,500 metres.<\/p>\n

    Only 24 teams will be allowed to participate in this popular hiking event.\u00a0Team registration<\/a> fee for this event is $200 and includes a long sleeve t-shirt and cooling towel per team member along with a Parks Canada Cape Breton Highlands National Park one-day park pass, map, and other items.<\/p>\n
