Race the clock with your team to uncover hidden clues, crack codes, and solve tricky puzzles. When your time is up, celebrate your efforts with a delicious, locally sourced lunch of house-made delicacies from Stone Soup Café.
Package Includes:
- Guided tour of c. 1800 McCulloch House, one of Pictou’s oldest historic homes
- 60-minute escape room game: Gain exclusive access to the authentic 1800s basement of the McCulloch House to solve the mystery of your chosen storyline: Haunting of Sherbrooke Cottage, A Poisonous Education, Seek to Find and Stop the Time, or coming soon, Whispers from the Past
- Lunch voucher to dine-in at Stone Soup Café, specializing in all-day breakfasts with a twist, house made pot pie, Cornish pasties and desserts
Offered: Available Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon, based on availability
Price: $36 per person (includes game and lunch)
- Optional add-on: Discover your Pictou, Scottish or Nova Scotia connections with a genealogy session in the extensive archives. Prices: unassisted research $10; assisted research $20; full-service research starts at $25.
Good to Know:
- Guests are invited to use meal voucher to dine-in at Stone Soup Café, a 15 minute walk from McCulloch House
- You have self-guided access to explore the McCulloch House grounds, including over 5 acres to explore with old growth trees, trails and interpretive panels scattered throughout
- The McCulloch House is not wheelchair accessible
- The Escape Room is set in the basement level of the McCulloch House and requires stair mobility to access
- Space is limited to a maximum of 6 people, minimum 2 people to book. Participants must be 13+ unless accompanied by an adult

- The McCulloch Genealogy Centre offers extensive resources including genealogies, community histories, photographs, newspapers and cemetery records. Whether you have direct Pictou connections or are interested in Nova Scotia or Scottish history, our archives are brimming with information for history enthusiasts. May & June open Monday – Friday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and July & August, open Monday – Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
