Chocolate Shops in and around Halifax

Gourmandises Avenue Chocolaterie
Visit the suburb of Cole Harbour across the Halifax harbour in Dartmouth and discover this long-time Nova Scotian favourite in their chocolate factory shop. You’ll find handcrafted chocolates, ice creams and decadent pastries created in-house by the chocolatier and pastry chef duo who are originally from France.

You can also find them weekly at the Wolfville Farmers’ Market.

Leonidas Cocodip
While in Cole Harbour, pop into Leonidas Cocodip for an assortment of Belgium chocolates. Bring your appetite for their sweet menu which includes hot chocolates, crepes and, a year-round favourite – their incredible chocolate dipped ice cream cones.

On the Halifax side of the harbour, visit the second location of Leonidas that opened in Spring 2022 in the Spring Garden Road shopping district.

Rousseau Chocolatier
Located in Halifax’s south end near the end of the Halifax Waterfront Rousseau Chocolatier is the perfect spot to stop for a sweet treat, a decadent coffee or to pickup some treats to share with someone special. All chocolates and sweets are made onsite, and you can watch the process as it happens from the viewing window!
