Contest Rules

1. Contest closes on June 15, 2007 at 11:59 p.m. Atlantic Time("Contest Closing Date").  No purchase necessary.  Participants may enter as often as they would like.

2. This Contest is only open to residents of Canada who are 19 years of age or older, except employees of Nova Scotia Tourism ("Contest Sponsor") and its representatives, dealers, agents, contest suppliers and judges, and those with whom they are domiciled.

3. To enter, correctly answer the daily trivia question at www.novascotia.com/Ottawa and provide all necessary entrant information before the Contest Closing Date. Only correctly answered entries are included in the draw for the prizes. All entries submitted become the property of the Contest Sponsor.

4. A random draw by an agent of the Contest Sponsor from all entries received will be made in Halifax, Nova Scotia on June 18, 2007 at 11am Atlantic time at the offices of Colour Creative Persuasion Inc. at 7051 Bayers Road Halifax NS.  The winning entrants will be contacted by email, and if a selected entrant cannot be reached within 14 days following the draw, another entrant may be selected.

5. Participants are eligible to win one of three prizes consisting of
(a) GRAND PRIZE
Trip for two to Nova Scotia

4 nights / 5 days – Halifax & Cape Breton

Prize includes:

  • Return Airfare for 2 to Halifax from any major destination within Canada
  • 4 nights hotel accommodation (2 nights downtown Halifax / 2 nights Baddeck)
  • 5 day Intermediate Car Rental / unlimited mileage (must have satisfactory driver's license)
  • All applicable taxes

Prize valued at approximately $3,400 Canadian, based on double occupancy.

Terms:

  • Travel arrangements are subject to space availability and to the terms and conditions of Ambassatours Gray Line.  
  • Travel must be taken between June 1 – October 15, 2007

The Grand Prize does not include all departure taxes or other similar taxes, travel and medical insurance, meals and beverages not included above, gas, tips and gratuities, hotel services (if any), items of a personal nature, additional spending money, incidentals and all other costs and expenses not specifically stated as being included herein.

(b) TWO ADDITIONAL PRIZES consisting of a lobster dinner for four persons valued at approximately $187CDN each. Winners will be sent a gift certificate which they can use to arrange to have the dinner delivered to their home. Prize must be claimed by May 28, 2008.

6. Prize must be accepted as awarded, and may not be transferred, sold or exchanged.  The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of at least equal value in the event of unavailability, for whatever reason. Winners shall be solely responsible for any costs or taxes associated with the prize.

7. The Contest Sponsor shall not use entry information for other purposes not contemplated by these rules without the prior consent of entrant.

8. The odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.

9. The winning entrant must correctly answer a mathematical skill testing question in order to receive the prize.

10. The Contest Sponsor assumes no responsibility for failure of the internet or the website during the promotional period, nor for any problems or technical malfunction of any communications link.  The Contest Sponsor reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel or suspend any portion of this Contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond their reasonable control corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest.

11. If the identity of an entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant.  The selected entrant may be required to provide proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the selected entry.

12. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any individual that it finds to be in violation of these Contest Rules or tampering with the Contest process. 

13. By participating in this contest, all entrants declare that they have read, understood and complied with the contest rules and agree to abide by all decisions of Nova Scotia Tourism whose decisions shall be final and binding in all respects. ENTRANTS RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS THE CONTEST SPONSOR, ITS ADVERTISING AND PROMOTIONAL AGENCIES, THEIR AFFILIATES AND RESPECTIVE DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, OWNERS, PARTNERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, DEALERS, REPRESENTATIVES, SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS FROM ANY LIABILITY IN CONNECTION WITH THIS CONTEST. Prior to receiving the prize, the Contest winner must sign and return, within a stipulated period of time, a full Liability and Publicity Release. 

14. Any litigation respecting the conduct or organizing of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Quebec Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling.  Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties to reach a settlement.

15. Subject only to the above paragraph for residents of Quebec, this Contest is governed exclusively by the laws of Nova Scotia, Canada, and all disputes are subject solely to the courts of Nova Scotia without regard to conflicts of law.
