Nova Scotia is heaven for nature lovers. There are over 125 Nova Scotia provincial parks and 23 beautiful community parks, so enjoying the great outdoors is easy no matter where your Nova Scotia tour takes you. Two unique national parks can also be found here,
Cape Breton Highlands National Park and
Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site. Nova Scotia parks offer you incredible opportunities to
hike or walk, beach-comb,
camp, canoe,
cycle,
surf, bird-watch, and
hunt for fossils. In the winter, many trails can be used for cross-country skiing, snowmobiling or snowshoeing. Spending time in our parks lets you experience nature in its purest form.
Along the Cabot Trail,
Cape Breton Highlands National Park is home to the Sky Line Trail, one of the most awe inspiring hiking trails in the world. The extensive boardwalk trail guides you through a protected habitat to panoramic views of the inspiring Nova Scotia
seacoast and the Cape Breton Highlands.
Cape Chignecto Provincial Park is the largest of the Nova Scotia provincial parks with 4,200 hectares of protected natural habitat and one of the most majestic coastal trail systems you'll find anywhere in the world.
Five Islands Provincial Park and
Blomidon Provincial Park are home to the world's highest tides in the
Bay of Fundy, which surge beneath the towering sea cliffs and provide amazing photo opportunities. All around Nova Scotia, you will find many
beautiful beaches, from the sea-washed cobblestones near
Halifax to the white sands of the
South Shore, to the red sand and warm waters of the
Northumberland Shore.
