In preparation for Oidhche Shamhna, Marlene Ivey, art and design professional recently returned from Scotland, will instruct on the making of masks inspired by the Gaelic traditions of All Hallows Eve. The ancient Celts belived that Halloween night marked the year's change from a time of light to darkness. A brief interim of one evening allowed the dead to walk with the living. Masks were worn to frighten capricious spirits.
