2009 will mark the 100th anniversary of the first powered flight in Canada and the British Empire by pilot J.A. "Douglas" McCurdy and a team of inventors led by Alexander Graham Bell. Baddeck will be host to visitors from everywhere as they celebrate this centennial with activities and events throughout 2009.
