Rogers presents the Halifax Pop Explosion, one of Canada's most respected festivals & showcases for new and emerging music, art, and culture. Founded in 1993, the festival features the best in new and music, and fuses it with the unique perspectives and exhibitions of art, media and pop culture, from Halifax, Canada, and around the world. Since its founding 16 years ago, the Halifax Pop Explosion has historically combined the excitement of the global underground music scene with the booming Halifax indie pop scene. The Festival has expanded its programming to support other genres within the independent music community from hip-hop and electronica to folk, alt-country, punk, hardcore and everything in between. The Halifax Pop Explosion takes on the second weekend after Thanksgiving in Canada and Columbus day in the United States.
