As part of a year-long celebration in commemoration of the 225th anniversary of the Loyalist Landing in Shelburne, 3 showcase weekend events will be held throughout July. Waterfront Weekend (July 11-13) will celebrate the rich maritime heritage shaped by Shelburne Harbour & will offer an opportunity to view & tour a variety of boats and ships, including Tall Ships. Grand Re-enactment Weekend (July 17-20) will celebrate the early history of the area with re-enactors recreating & celebrating the period of history at the time of the Shelburne landing. Also features the NS Town Crier Competition & unveiling of the Shelburne Fyfe. Founders' Days Weekend (July 24-27) will celebrate Shelburne's history, then and now, with a mix of events including re-enactment of the 1783 landing of Governor Parr, renaming of Port Roseway to Shelburne, a period Governor's Ball, a fireworks display & a parade of lights on the harbour.
