Rte 1 to Granville Ferry, left 11.5 km (7.5 mi). A reconstruction of the original Port Royal Habitation (1605), a French fur-trading post built by Samuel de Champlain and Sieur de Monts. The buildings form a rectangle around a courtyard, similar to farms in Normandy, France. Here, amidst the hardships of the New World, North America’s first social club, the Order of Good Cheer, was founded by Champlain, and Canada’s first theatrical presentation, “Theatre of Neptune,” was performed. Costumed interpreters. A Bay of Fundy Recommended Experience. B, Pic, P45. VS, MC, AE, DD.
