The largest celebration of Celtic culture in North America takes place across Cape Breton Island every October.
Cape Breton, home to the world-renowned Cabot Trail, is dominated by the beautiful Bras d’Or Lakes and majestic Highlands. For nine days at the height of the autumn leaf season, the island is alive with dozens of concerts; hundreds of workshops; visual exhibits; square dances; and walking, cycling and craft tours.
This award-winning event features Cape Bretons finest singers, players, dancers and tradition bearers in concert with performers from around the world.
Churches, theatres, performance halls, firehalls, schools, and major arenas serve as festival venues in communities like Judique, Mabou, Inverness, Ingonish, and Marion Bridge whose names resonant throughout the Celtic world.
Experience the joy of our ceilidhs at Celtic Colours. Join hundreds of revelers at the Giant Ceilidh at the Big Fiddle at Sydney’s Marine terminal. Take part in a close-knit community ceilidh in an intimate setting like Johnstown’s Sacred Heart Church.
Tailor your Celtic Colour experience to your own taste. There are as many as seven concerts taking place in one day. Take in events that present a broad range of music and themes, or build an itinerary around one theme:
- Gaelic singing
- Cape Breton fiddling
- World-class bagpiping
- Celtic storytelling
Celtic Colours International Festival has won many major awards from East Coast Music Awards to the American Bus Association’s Top Event in Canada. Don’t miss this world-class cultural event.
